OFS Brands Headquarters

A biophilic approach-
Biophilia is human’s innate biological attraction to nature and living systems. “Biophilic design can reduce stress, improve cognitive function and creativity, improve our well-being and expedite healing...” (Terrapin).  Every year billions of dollars are squandered in U.S. businesses due to lost productivity caused by stress related illnesses.  Providing a design that reconnects people with nature is essential for ensuring a healthy work place to promote a greater overall health and well-being.
In this design, biophilia is brought in using materials that mimic scenes in nature. For example, the carpet tiles used incorporate colors that could look like the floor in a forest, the green and yellow carpet tile reflects the appearance of grass and leaves while the brown carpet tile reflects the look of an earthier, dirt ground. Wooden planters with various plants are placed throughout the office to bring in natural elements. Living walls are featured throughout the office as well, especially in the lobby right off the elevators. Wood ceilings are used in main corridor areas to bring forth the illustration of trees.
In order to ensure the main focus of this floor is the furniture, the walls are minimal so there is no distraction from the main selling point. This office portrays an open office design, using furniture as space solutions opposed to walls.

The Bibles & Coffee Building

Jackie Rau's thriving ministry, Bibles and Coffee, is outgrowing her tiny apartment in LA and she is wanting a space that will allow her business to expand. Bibles and Coffee will call a historic Hollywood building, built in 1909, home. The space will consist of a public coffee shop, an art studio for paint your own Bible workshops, a personal studio for Jackie to create, and an office for the behind the scenes, creative operations. The space will  incorporate biophilia to enhance the well-being of all those who occupy it. The interiors reflect a space that is welcoming, modern, and cozy.

Restaurant Project
The restaurants are named “Fernweh” which is a German term meaning the craving for travel and distant places, the opposite of homesickness, also the German word for wanderlust. Each of the three international locations will mimic the feeling of one of the other international locations. The idea of Fernweh is to feel as if you are outside in another country. The design will provide an international dining experience without having to leave the country.
The countries featured are  South Africa, Austria, and Israel.
